SS Palo Alto Project

Developed by SPARC Fellow Barbara Benish in collaboration with the US Safe Planet Campaign for Responsibility of Hazardous Chemicals and Wastes. The SS Palo Alto Project is a series of creative art events created to build awareness and public outreach on issues sustaining marine life specifically the lessening the impact of POP’s on the environment. Events included beach cleanups, plastic pollution workshops, performances, Belly sculptures, fish bicycles, parades and public/ educational workshops with local school children. Benish presented the SSPalo Alto project in Macedonia, Prague and at UC Santa Cruz.
